The reproduction was very successful again this year and our fry are eating diligently. Bred brine shrimp (Artemia), also known as primeval shrimp, serve as their first food. This is visible by the red coloration of their bellies. The little fish slowly start to look like "mini sturgeons" with their small barbels and beginning coloration. After the changeover to external food, the first thousand sterlets are already released in the project areas, the rest will be raised on the Danube Island over the summer.
